Auburn Football: Hugh Freeze Disappointed After Loss to Ole Miss

Tigers Fall to 3-5 on the Season

Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze expressed his disappointment following the Tigers' 28-21 loss to Ole Miss on Saturday.

The loss marked Auburn's third consecutive defeat to a ranked opponent and dropped the Tigers to 3-5 on the season. Freeze said he was particularly disappointed with his team's inability to close out the game, as they led 14-3 at halftime.

"We had a chance to win the game," Freeze said. "We had the lead in the fourth quarter, but we didn't make the plays we needed to make. We have to find a way to finish games."

Freeze said he was also disappointed with his team's performance on defense, as they allowed Ole Miss quarterback Jaxson Dart to pass for 369 yards and two touchdowns. Freeze said the Tigers need to improve their tackling and communication on defense.

"We have to be better on defense," Freeze said. "We have to tackle better and we have to communicate better. We're giving up too many big plays. We have to find a way to get off the field on third down.

Despite the loss, Freeze said he still believes in his team. He said the Tigers need to learn from their mistakes and continue to work hard.

"We're not going to give up," Freeze said. "We're going to keep fighting and we're going to find a way to win games."

Auburn will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Mississippi State. The Bulldogs are 6-2 on the season, including a 40-17 win over Arkansas last week.
