Coach Freeze Highlights Coach Ron Roberts and Auburn's Defense
Auburn coach Hugh Freeze praised defensive coordinator Ron Roberts and the Tigers' defense for their performance in the win over Cal.
"I thought Coach Roberts did a great job of putting together a game plan," Freeze said. "Our guys played with great effort and execution, and they made some big plays when we needed them."
The Tigers held Cal to just 205 yards of total offense and forced three turnovers. It was the first time Auburn has held an opponent under 300 yards of total offense since the 2020 season opener against Kentucky.
"I'm really proud of the way our defense played," Freeze said. "They set the tone for the game, and they gave us a chance to win."
Freeze Previews Cal Week
Freeze also previewed Auburn's upcoming game against Cal.
"Cal is a good team," Freeze said. "They have a lot of talented players, and they're well-coached. We're going to have to play our best game of the season to beat them."
The Tigers will travel to California on Friday to face the Golden Bears on Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
